AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- The man accused of double murder in connection with a shooting at an Augusta nightclub was granted bond Friday.
Charles Lawson, III, and Jabrie Dominguez died after a shootout outside the club.
Charvez Lawson is Charles Lawson's brother. In court, deputies said the suspect was seen on camera shooting into a group of people. He was then involved in a standoff with police weeks later before being taken into custody.
The shooting was caused by a fight between Charles Lawson, III, and Dominguez. The two were allegedly in rival gangs.
The DA's office requested bond be denied for Lawson, because he ran from officers for three weeks. Lawson's defense said he did not flee, and there was no evidence to prove it.
Lawson is claiming he was defending himself when he fired shots into the crowd.
A judge granted him $100,000 bond.
