GHS YNet Club to Hold First International Women's Day Event - Greenwich Free Press

Greenwich High School club YNet will be hosting their first International Women’s Day Event on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 9:00am to 1:00m for young women in high school and college who are thinking about entering the workforce.

There will be free workshops – all led by powerful women—to help prepare participants in becoming professionals.

Topics to be covered include resume writing, maximizing the impact of LinkedIn, job interviews, dressing appropriately and professionally, and person finance. Participants can also get a free professional head shot taken!

YNet is a youth leadership program sponsored by the YWCA Greenwich in partnership with Greenwich High School. All YNet club members receive training in leadership and dating violence enabling them to give one-on-one support to their student peers and facilitate educational programs on healthy relationships.

This year, club members received training on sexual violence and the neurobiology of trauma, and gender diversity as well so they are better able to address more issues facing their peers.

The event is free and will have bagels donated from Old Greenwich’s Upper Crust Bagel Company! There is no registration needed to attend, but you may reach out to the Domestic Abuse Services’ Youth Advocate and YNet co-advisor, Lexxie Anderson, with questions or if you’re interested in getting involved at a.anderson@ywcagreenwich.org.
