Timely Donation Greatly Helps Reduce Cross-Contamination During Covid-19 Outbreak

CHATHAM, NJ - Local area gyms - The Chatham Club and the Madison Area YMCA - are doing their part and pitching in to help offset the spread of Covid-19 by donating their excess supply of disinfectant materials to the Chatham Emergency Squad.

“This is a simple, terrific and unexpected way to support the efforts and needs of our Squad, who remain vigilant and ready to help our community during this health crisis,” said Evan Skinner, President of the Chatham Emergency Squad.  “A simple gift such as this goes a long way in keeping our equipment and our staff safe, so that we can continue to be of service to Chatham, and neighboring communities.”

The Chatham Club, an independent squash, gym, and fitness club on Southern Boulevard and The Madison Area YMCA of Greater New Jersey, a not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility have both donated their surplus disinfectant supplies.

“One of our organization’s core principles is to promote the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility,” said Diane Mann, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Madison Area YMCA. “To foster this, we believe these extra materials would be better used by our community heroes who are on the front line of this awful pandemic, and hope it will prove valuable to slow the spread of Covid-19.”

“We are happy to help out our local ambulance squad in any way we can and this is a simple step we can take to do so,” said Darren Worts, Club Manager for the Chatham Club.  “We have properly disinfected our facilities and all of our exercise equipment, and have more than enough supply once the State of New Jersey allows us to re-open.  Why not give the rest to those who need it most?” he added.

About the Chatham Emergency Squad
