The Ottawa Garden Club met Jan. 29 at the Fox High Rise in Ottawa. Arnie Bandstra gave a presentation on the progress of the canal project and the toll house.
Jane Snell was the door greeter and donated the door prize. Jane Norem was the hospitality greeter. The "night off" refreshment committee was Sharon Stevenson, Robin Keenan and Judy Richardson. Food items were brought to the meeting by members and donated to Public Action to Deliver Shelter.
Robin Keenan asked for help once a week from March to May with the raised beds at PADS.
A few members shared their "Garden Favorites: Practices, Plants and Preferences," which included sharing wonderful friendships while gardening with others, pictures of great plants from the member plant sales and buzzards in backyards.
Alan Clarke won the door prize.
The next meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Fox High Rise in Ottawa. Diane Bergeson and Jackie Brewster from Ganz's Greenhouse will talk on "Behind the Scenes at Ganz Greenhouse." Guests are always welcome.
